About Sweet Little Nest

Susan with her parents, tucked into her own Sweet Little Nest

When Susan was a little girl, her father used to sing her a lullaby that was actually a song first written in 1920 and covered by everyone from Lawrence Welk to Willie Nelson. It was that or the BeeGees, so you know, this was preferable.

Our blog name, Sweet Little Nest, is inspired by a passage from the song.

With Someone Like You
With someone like you a pal so good and true
I’d like to leave it all behind and go and find
Someplace that’s known to God alone
Just a spot we could call our own

We’ll find perfect peace where joys will never cease
Out there beneath the calmly skies
We’ll build a sweet little nest somewhere out in the west
And let the rest of the world go by

(With someone like you a pal good and true
I’d like to leave it all behind and go and find)
Some place that’s known to God alone
Just a spot we could call our own

We’ll find perfect peace, where joys never cease
And the let rest of the world go by

Susan has loved that song since she was a tiny girl and she hopes her own little bird will love it just as much. Of course, Susan can’t sing. I mean, she’s really really awful. Oh well. Our little bird is sure to think it’s sweet anyway.
